KIEV, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- Turkey is interested in expanding economic cooperation with Ukraine and introducing visa-free regime between the two countries, Turkish Industry Minister Nihat Ergun said Monday.
"We expect that the balance of trade between Ukraine and Turkey will be 5 billion dollars this year and next year it will reach the pre-crisis level, 8 billion dollars," Ergun said at the Black Sea Economic forum in Yalta, southern Ukraine's Crimea.
Turkey and Ukraine should switch to the visa-free regime to boost Turkish investments in the peninsula's infrastructure, "which Ukraine plans to turn into paradise," the minister said.
He also noted great prospects for the creation of joint Ukrainian-Turkish companies in construction, tourism and energy, including through non-conventional energy sources.
According to the Turkish minister, the signing of a free trade agreement between Ukraine and Turkey would also help to increase trade turnover between the two countries and favor their economic growth.
