Kosovo Gets No-Interest Loan from Islamic Bank

The Islamic Development Bank has granted Kosovo a loan of 27 million euro, for which it won't be charged interest. The money will go on education, health and infrastructure.

Turkey funds schools in Kosovo, and Kosovo students are flocking to Turkish universities.

With help from Turkey, the city of Lipjan in Kosovo is becoming an important educational centre. In 2000, Turkish investors opened the Mehmet Akif College, the first private school built after the armed conflict in Kosovo. Serbia to revamp education

With Serbia engrossed in political and economic problems, its educational system has languished over the past two decades. Fewer than 7% of residents are highly educated, while more than 1.3 million, out of the 7.5 million total population, lack basic elementary education.

Some 22 professors at Prizren University are demanding the removal of their German rector, Roland Munch, claiming that he is not capable of developing the institution.
