Bosnian Intellectuals Rally for Divjak

A group of Bosnian artists and intellectual has called for the release of Bosnian Army General Jovan Divjak, who was arrested in Vienna on March 3.

Divjak was taken into custody in response to a request from Serbia, where he is suspected of war crimes against the Yugoslav People’s Army, JNA.

He was placed in home custody by an Austrian court, where he awaits a decision on extradition to Serbia. Bosnia has also sent an extradition request for him....more...

Ex General Divjak Asks to Return to Bosnia

Retired Bosnian Army general Jovan Divjak, who was arrested in Vienna in March on a Serbian warrant, has asked Austria to allow him to return to Bosnia as soon as possible

Divjak, who was released on bail shortly after his arrest, is awaiting extradition hearings in Austria. Serbia has requested his extradition

as part of investigation into his alleged involvement in an attack on a convoy of the Yugoslav People's Army as it was leaving Sarajevo in May 1992.....more....

SARAJEVO -- The commemoration of the deaths of the Yugoslav Peoples' Army (JNA) soldiers in Sarajevo's Dobrovoljačka Street passed without incidents on Tuesday.
This was the case although the Sarajevo Canton police violated an earlier agreement by not allowing a three-member Serb delegation to lay wreaths at the place of the murder of the soldiers, citing security reasons....more...

Bosnian Serbs Mark Anniversary of Dobrovoljacka Incident

Representatives of Republika Srpska on Tuesday marked 19 years since a convoy of the Yugoslav People’s Army was attacked in Dobrovoljacka Street as it was leaving Sarajevo at the beginning of the siege of the city.
