Serbian government revealed on Friday the completion of the formation of its official delegation that will lead the future negotiations with Kosovo.
The negotiations are in order to resolve the ongoing dispute between the two sides after Kosovo’s declaration of independence.
The Serbian government said in a statement broadcasted by Belgrade Radio, that Serbia formed a formal negotiating team, who will lead negotiations with the authorities in Kosovo, as it has developed an appropriate strategy for Serbia’s negotiating position.
The statement refused to reveal the team members, stating that the team is free from senior political figures in the country and includes a number of experts who would defend the position of Serbia.
The statement also justified the involvement of non-Serb politicians in the negotiations-team to avoid the use of diplomatic notes between Kosovo and Serbia for what could be construed as official recognition of the independence of Kosovo from Serbia due to the the fact that the diplomatic notes will take a formalized nature between the negotiating parties.
