Polish, Bulgarian FMs discuss relations

WARSAW, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Polish and Bulgarian foreign ministers Radoslaw Sikorski and Nikolai Mladenov met here on Wednesday to discuss energy security and completion of the Euro- Atlantic integration of the Western Balkan countries.
Sikorski told a news briefing that during the meeting he had the opportunity to discuss with his counterpart international and bilateral issues. "Poland and Bulgaria as new European countries have a number of common interests as regards the European budget, agriculture policy, EU's climate policy," he stressed.
The two ministers also discussed issues related to European energy security. According to Sikorski, it is important, for Europe's sake, to create a good, competitive energy market inside Europe and diversify sources and supply routes to Europe.
Sikorski said that Poland also supports the completion of Euro- Atlantic integration of the Western Balkan countries. He assured that the Donald Tusk government will be very active on this issue during Poland's EU presidency in the second half of 2011.
Minister Mladenov thanked the Polish government for its consistent support of Bulgaria's efforts aimed at joining the Schengen zone in 2011.
He also referred to the support for the European perspective of EU membership of the Western Balkan countries.
