Ratko Mladic has threatened to boycott the latest hearing in his war crimes prosecution, in an echo of the obstructive tactics adopted by Radovan Karadzic during his trial.

The former Bosnian Serb military leader said he would refuse to attend the plea hearing on Monday as he demands the right to select his own lawyers.
