Serbia is the Southeast European country with the largest number of refugees, internally displaced people and stateless persons, according to a new UN report.

The number of people forced to flee their homes rose to a 15-year high by the end of 2010, the UN refugee agency (UNHCR) said on Monday (June 20th).
Last year, there were 43.7 million forcibly displaced people worldwide, up from 43.3 million in 2009, it noted in its 2010 Global Trends report, which does not reflect the changes stemming from developments in North Africa in the first months of this year. Of these, 27.5 million were internally displaced persons (IDPs), 15.4 million were refugees and 837,500 were asylum-seekers....more....
