THE HAGUE — Ratko Mladic will make his first appearance before the United Nations war crimes tribunal here on Friday and be asked to enter his plea on charges including genocide and crimes against humanity, court officials said Wednesday.
Mr. Mladic, 69, was captured last week after nearly 16 years as a fugitive. He was flown to the Netherlands on Tuesday, after judges in Belgrade, Serbia, rapidly ruled against the appeal of his extradition on the grounds that he was mentally and physically unfit for trial....more...
