The election on June 12th will showcase a Muslim democracy. Although the winner is not in doubt, it could have a big impact on Turkey’s future




THE rise of Turkey is one of the past decade’s most important and least noticed stories. The country has put behind it a grim past as a basket-case that needed repeated rescuing by the IMF. Last year it grew faster than any other big economy barring China and India. As the world’s 17th-biggest economy, Turkey has become a leading member of the G20 club.
