Ratko Mladic is the last of the three most wanted men from the Bosnian war to be brought to justice.
A former Bosnian Serb commander, Mladic faces 15 charges of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. The genocide charges are based on his command of the siege of Sarajevo, which lasted throughout the Bosnian conflict, and the massacre of more than 8,000 Bosnian Muslim men and boys after the fall in 1995 of the enclave of Srebrenica, which was supposed to have been a United Nations safe haven.
