The European Union police and justice mission (EULEX) said it had issued an arrest warrant for a member of Kosovo’s parliament from the ruling party on suspicion of committing war crimes during the 1998-99 war.

Fatmir Limaj, a member of parliament and former minister, was acquitted by The Hague war crimes tribunal in 2005. He said he was ready to give up his immunity as a member of parliament and "cooperate with justice."Limaj and nine other individuals arrested on the same charges are ethnic Albanians and ex-members of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), which fought Serb forces during the war. Fatmir Limaj (born 4 February 1971 in the village of Banja, Mališevo municipality, Yugoslavia – now Kosovo) is a politician from Kosovo. He is a member of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) and is considered to be Hashim Thaçi's right hand and close political partner. Limaj served as Minister of Transport and Telecommunication in the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
