Croatian oil company Ina’s investments in Syria’s oil and gas wells could finally start paying off by the end of this year when the pumping begins, the portal Business writes.
Ina is expected to rake in 15 million dollars per month or 200 million per year from its business in Syria.
Just last year, the company invested 1.5 billion kunas (204.4 million Euros) in the west Asian country. It is expected to recover its investments in two to three years, says consultant Jasmin Umicevic.
Twelve years ago Ina signed a concession for oil and gas pumping that is valid for another eight years. During this time, Ina will share production with Syria’s SPC with a ratio of 51 to 49 for oil and 56 to 44 for gas.
