Bosnia Charges Four With Genocide For Srebrenica Killings

August 13, 2010
Four ex-members of Bosnian Serb special forces have been charged with genocide by Bosnian authorities for their alleged involvement in the 1995 execution of 800 Muslims in Srebrenica.
A prosecutor's statement said Franc Kos, a 44-year old Slovenian citizen, and three Bosnian Serbs -- Stanko Kojic, Vlastimir Golijan and Zoran Goronja -- were indicted for "direct participation in the execution of more than 800 Muslim men and teenagers after the fall" of Srebrenica in July 1995.
The victims were executed on a farm north of Srebrenica. After overrunning the then UN-protected enclave on July 11, 1995, Bosnian Serbs executed around 8,000 Muslim men and boys, in the worst atrocity in Europe since World War II.
