This despite its announcement that there were no conditions for Serbs to take part in the December elections, Bogdanović said.

"We must understand, especially those of us who live here in Kosovo and Metohija, what conditions Serbs live south of the Ibar (River), and how Serbs north of the Ibar live. The government will, despite the fact that eight lists were registered, respect all those Serbs who tomorrow work in those institutions in the interest of the Serb community," he was quoted.

"We do not wish to in any way divide Serbs, but certainly those who work in the interest of the Serb community and in the interest of all citizens in Kosovo and Metohija will have the government's absolute support," Bogdanović stated.

The minister made his statement while visiting the Serbian Orthodox monastery of Dečani in Kosovo.
