A SUCCESSFUL referendum on Kosovo’s European future was how Hashim Thaci (pictured), the prime minister, described Kosovo’s general election on December 12th, its first since independence in 2008. Mr Thaci’s Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) claims to have won the election, with 33.5% of the vote. Days after Kosovo's current Prime Minister Hasim Thaci's party emerged the front-runner in a general election, a draft report by a European investigator has accused Thaci and former commanders of the Kosovo Liberation Army of organizing organ trafficking after the conflict with Serbian security forces ended in 1999.
The report by Council of Europe special rapporteur Dick Marty suggests Thaci, the wartime political leader of the ethnic Albanian guerrilla group, was one of the key players in the traffic of prisoners' organs....more...

-Investigator Calls For Truth About Kosovo Organ-Trafficking Ring

Council of Europe investigator Dick Marty has defended his report on organ-trafficking in Kosovo and Albania, saying his draft report is aimed at encouraging the search for truth.
Marty's report, which was unveiled this week following a two-year investigation, accuses former commanders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) of organizing organ-trafficking after the conflict with Serb security forces ended in 1999....more...
